Checkpoint in Choctaw nets arrests, 42 citations

CHOCTAW — Oklahoma County sheriff’s deputies and Choctaw police made two arrests and issued 42 citations in a traffic safety checkpoint overnight Saturday, according to a sheriff’s office news release.
About 560 vehicles traveled through the checkpoint, which was open from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. at NE 23 and Henney Road, according to the release.
One arrest was for driving with a suspended license, the other for an outstanding warrant.
The identities of the arrested people were not released.
The 42 citations were issued for a wide range of offenses, including not using seat belts and child restraints, insurance violations, driving without a license, expired tags, driving with a suspended license, using an expired license and transporting an open container of beer, according to the release.
Ten warnings also were issued for driving without insurance, no driver’s license in possession and defective equipment, according to the release.
