— A man is accused of having more than 3,000 images of child pornography on a storage account, authorities reported.

Laurence F. Thompson, 59, was arrested Wednesday on complaints of possession of child pornography, of aggravated possession of child pornography and of violating the Oklahoma Computer Crimes Act, the state attorney general’s office reported.

A task force received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children of an online storage account registered to Thompson containing images of child pornography. Authorities found more than 3,000 images of child pornography on the account while conducting a search warrant.

When Thompson was arrested, authorities found child pornography on a laptop, a cellphone and other computer equipment in Thompson’s possession, the state attorney general’s office reported.

Chickasha police officers and agents from the attorney general’s office and the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation are investigating whether any local children are in the images found in the online storage account.

It was not immediately known where Thompson was being held.
