Chickasha residents tops in recycling

CHICKASHA -- No other location in Oklahoma has matched this Grady County city's 62.5 percent participation rate in a recycling program.

That's the word from a Waste Connections report on the Oklahoma recycling effort, the Chickasha Express-Star says.



Brenda Merchant, state sales and municipal manager for Waste Connections, commended the citizens of Chickasha for their efforts.

The report says Chickasha's record-breaking numbers have impressed other communities whose officials are considering similar efforts.
