KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Kansas City Chiefs were active on the waiver wire Sunday, claiming seven players and releasing six others to reach the NFL's roster limit of 53 heading into Week 1 of the season.
The Chiefs had an open roster spot after trading linebacker Edgar Jones to the Dallas Cowboys for an undisclosed draft pick Saturday night. They filled that spot and the open ones with several players who will have to get up to speed quickly before next Sunday's game at Jacksonville.
The Chiefs claimed cornerbacks Marcus Cooper and Ron Parker, wide receiver Chad Hall, defensive tackle Jaye Howard, tight end Sean McGrath and linebackers James-Michael Johnson and Dezman Moses.
They released tight end Kevin Brock, cornerback Jalil Brown, linebacker Zac Diles, defensive tackle Jerrell Powe, tight end Kevin Brock and safety Bradley McDougald.
