Child dies in rollover accident

Icy road may have contributed to the accident, police said

A 5-year-old died in Muskogee on Tuesday in a rollover accident, police reported.

Charles Spence was the passenger in a car that went out of control when crossing a bridge. Icy road conditions may have contributed to the crash, police said.

Charles' mother, Dehlila, 27, was driving the car when it left the road and rolled down a grassy embankment.

Charles was seated in the back of the car and was ejected during the crash. He did not appear to be wearing a seat belt, police said.

Alydia Shepherd, 39, and the mother's two other children, Sean Barnaby and Russell Spence, were also in the car and had minor injuries.
