MEXICO CITY (AP) — Mexican giants Guadalajara Chivas drew 1-1 against San Luis on Sunday and remain winless after five games of the Clausura championship.
UANL Tigres remain top of the league on goal difference from Tijuana, with the top two drawing 2-2 on Saturday. America is one point behind in third position after its 3-0 victory against Queretaro, also Saturday.
In other games this weekend, Puebla defeated Morelia 3-1, UNAM Pumas and Santos Laguna drew 0-0, Atlante had a 3-1 victory over Monterrey, Pachuca won 1-0 against Toluca, Leon drew 2-2 against Cruz Azul and Atlas overcame Jaguares 2-1.
Chivas fired advisor Johan Cruyff at the end of last season, but are still without a victory in 2013.
Marco Fabian swiveled and struck a left foot shot inside the post to hand Chivas the lead in the 23rd minute.
San Luis equalized in the 53rd when Mauro Matos easily turned his marker to score.
Two defensive lapses cost Tigres, with Alfredo Moreno capitalizing to open the scoring for Tijuana in the 13th and Duvier Riascos equalizing in the 74th.
Argentine Lucas Lobos scored twice in 15 second half minutes to level the scores and then put Tigres ahead.
America's Raul Jimenez got the opener against Querataro with a shot from outside the penalty area in the 16th and added his second in the 71st with a header. Christian Benitez converted a penalty two minutes from time to wrap up the scoring.
Puebla's first came from an own goal by Morelia's Joel Huiqui in the 18th. He had attempted to head the ball back to goalkeeper Federico Vilar, but instead it looped over the 'keeper and into the net.
