Within the next week, fans of Choc Beer Co.’s Choctoberfest should be able to find the beer on tap with a twist.
A version of Choctoberfest made using smoked malts — Smoketoberfest — is set for release at a limited number of bars and restaurants.
Choc President Zach Prichard said the beer was made in the tradition of smoked beers coming out of Bamberg, Germany.
Only a small quantity was made, and it will likely only be available at “more beer-focused” locations, Prichard said. (He mentioned TapWerks and Wedge Deep Deuce in Oklahoma City.)
He described the beer as a labor of love, and said that it’s quickly becoming a favorite at the Krebs brewery.
