Choices Jerome Ersland made helped land him in prison

It's time to put the Jerome Ersland case behind us. District Attorney David Prater did his job and defense attorney Irven Box did his job. Ersland is in prison because he chose to be. The Miranda warning gives us the right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. Ers-land chose to talk to the police prior to having an attorney. That was a bad decision. Had he chosen to remain silent and consulted with an attorney first, he'd be counting pills in a pharmacy today.
