Christian Heritage quarterback Colton Lindsey has plenty of weapons to throw to this season.
The Crusaders return four wide receivers and tight end Nathan Sosa, making the offense tough to defend all over the field.
“It’s huge because you can’t just cover one guy,” CHA coach John Merrell said. “Of course our offense pretty much doesn’t predicate that anyway; it’s you’re throwing to the people based on what the defense has done. If he’s done a good job on the pre-snap reads, most of the time if people don’t move he knows who he’s supposed to throw to, and the good thing is we’ve got confidence in whoever that is.”
Sosa is primed for a big season, Merrell said. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior caught 10 passes for 91 yards and a TD last season, but looked really strong in last week’s scrimmage against Casady.
“He had some unbelievable blocks Friday night, plus he’s going to be so good after he’s got the ball in his hands,” Merrell said. “He’s a huge weapon for us and he also does a great job for us on defense.”
