What do you call an event that is hard to describe?

Christian authors and writers Christy Johnson and Jenny Broughton said they brainstormed at length with three other friends about their upcoming gathering in northwest Oklahoma City.

Johnson said the quintet of women decided to call their event “Summer Show & Tell: A Gathering For Women of Influence” because that is just what it is.

She and Broughton said they are inviting women's ministry leaders from across the metro and the state to the event set for July 14 at a home in Oklahoma City. Johnson and Broughton said they will be joined by their friends Stefne Miller, Rachel Sinclair and Diane Stout as they show and tell ministry leaders about their own ministries. The event also will include breakfast and a tour of the mansion that will be the site of the gathering.

Broughton said she envisions the gathering to be a connecting point for ministry leaders to make new friends and network with others. Johnson said she and the other women hosting the event found each other through happenstance and have helped mentor and guide one another through various ministry experiences. “Show & Tell” is a way to foster new relationships in a fun and intentional way, she said.

Johnson said each person in the group has a faith testimony to share and the July 14 “out of the box” event is designed as a venue to spread the faith and hope of the Lord to others.

She said the group hopes to draw about 120 women to the gathering.
