Several contemporary Christian and gospel recording artists have released new Christmas albums for the holiday season.
Here is a listing of some of the new compilations setting a merry musical tone of Christmas cheer.
By Paul Baloche (Integrity Music).
Baloche said the overall concept of “Christmas Worship” was to take classic Christmas carols and combine them with modern worship choruses to help facilitate a “singing your prayers” style of worship throughout the Christmas season.
The album, released in October, features classic hymns and carols plus original songs.
By Marvin Sapp (RCA).
Sapp, an eight-time Grammy Award winner, released his new Christmas album in October.
The first single off the album “Home for Christmas,” features R&B singer Joe.
The album also features a guest appearance by Commissioned (Fred Hammond, Keith Staten, Mitchell Jones, Karl Reid, Michael Williams and Marcus Cole) on “What Child is This” and “Honor the King.”
By Ernie Haase and Signature Sound (StowTown Records/Provident).
This DVD and CD combo features Haase and Signature Sound as they perform in front of a live audience at Carson Center in Paducah, Ky.
The combo compilation is designed to give viewers and listeners a front-row seat to an evening celebrating the season.
By Julie Meyer (Forerunner Music).
With three original songs, three modern Christmas tunes and six traditional carols, “Christmas,” released in November, is an eclectic mix of styles, seamlessly flowing together as it unfolds the story of good news for mankind.
With a gospel choir, a little bluegrass, acoustic guitar, children's voices, new arrangements, and more, there is something for everyone on this album, as Meyer celebrates Christ coming to earth.
