The latest forecast shows a chance of snow and rain before noon, then rain in the afternoon. Cloudy skies are expected Sunday with a 30 percent chance of precipitation.
An upper-level storm system in the southwestern United States is moving east more quickly than anticipated, Sharpe said. The system also is carrying more moisture than originally foreseen.
Temperatures early Sunday are expected to dip to about 28 degrees in Oklahoma City. There could be enough moisture for some snowfall, but nothing like the blizzard of Christmas Eve 2009, Sharpe said.
All highways have reopened in the Panhandle after that region received 15 inches of snow on Monday. There are still slick spots in Harper County on U.S. 270 west of Log Cabin and on U.S. 64 west of Rosston. Crews are still sanding and salting those roads. Motorists should keep an eye out for black ice, especially during nighttime driving.
