"Christmas With Tucker": First original Hallmark Movie Channel holiday film among network's "Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas" event

Hallmark Movie Channel begins its first-ever original holiday programming event “Most Wonderful Movies of Christmas” Nov. 11.

The network’s first-ever original holiday movie “Christmas With Tucker” is included, as well as a number of holiday favorites such as “Holiday Affair,” “Christmas in Connecticut,” “It Happened on 5th Avenue,” “The Bishop’s Wife” and “Babes in Toyland.”

Monday, November 25 (9p.m. ET/PT, 8C)

Starring: James Brolin, Gage Munroe, Josie Bissett, Barbara Gordon

A teenage boy forms a special bond with a neighbor’s dog and learns to be a man by helping his grandparents and farmland community through a series of winter storms. However, the upcoming Christmas promises to be one to remember, as the young boy learns first-hand the importance of responsibility, the faithfulness of friends and the power of love. Based on the book Christmas with Tucker by Greg Kincaid, “Christmas With Tucker” the movie is the prequel to the 2009 Hallmark Hall of Fame film “A Dog Named Christmas” also based on a book written by the same author.

Romantic complications develop just before Christmas, when department store clerk Steve Mason meets big spending customer Connie Ennis, who is really a commercial spy. When Steve unmasks Connie as a spy, he decides to let her go, which gets him fired. The two later end up on a date, which doesn’t sit well with Connie’s boyfriend, Carl, but delights her son Timmy, who doesn’t want Carl for a step-dad.

Aloyisius T. McKeever, a homeless man in New York City, makes his home in a boarded-up Fifth Avenue mansion, using the back door, while its owner, multi-millionaire Michael J. O’Connor winters in the South. McKeever winds up taking in homeless ex-G.I. Jim Bullock, who has been evicted from an apartment building O’Connor is tearing down for a new skyscraper and runaway 18-year-old Trudy “Smith” who, unknown to him, is O’Connor’s daughter. Soon Jim invites war buddies Whitey, Hank and their families to share the vast mansion while they seek homes of their own, but romance gets complicated when Trudy falls for Jim.

Episcopal Bishop, Henry Brougham, has been working for months on the plans for an elaborate new cathedral which he hopes will be paid for primarily by a wealthy, stubborn widow. In the meantime, he is losing sight of his wife and family and why he became a churchman in the first place. Enter Dudley, an angel sent to help him. Dudley helps everyone he meets, but not necessarily in the way they would have preferred. With the exception of Henry, everyone loves him, but Henry begins to believe that Dudley is there to replace him, both at work and in his family’s affections.

As Mary and Tom’s wedding approaches, evil schemer Barnaby hatches a plot to drown Tom and steal Mary’s sheep in an effort to get her to marry him. Unfortunately for Barnaby, the two henchmen he ordered to kill Tom lose their nerve, kidnap him instead and sell him to a band of gypsies, where Tom is able to escape. When Mary discovers Tom is alive, she and the children of the village strike out to find him. But before they can get back to their village, they must make their way through a dark forest, help a toymaker in Toyland make enough toys for Christmas and defeat Barnaby.

It¹s a unique fantasy trip through the magic of Christmas and features appearances by Grammy award nominee Jewel, Tony award winner Michael Crawford and the magnificent orchestral performances of “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Good King Joy,” “Christmas Canon,” “Promises to Keep,” “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” (featuring Jewel), “This Christmas Day” and “O Holy Night” (featuring Crawford).
