Cinemark theaters showing "Oklahoma!," "Hello Dolly," "Moulin Rouge" TODAY and Tuesday for Best Movie Fest Ever

Cinemark Holdings, one of the world’s largest motion picture exhibitors, is pleased to announce a partnership with Best Movie Fest Ever to present the first of its monthly film series at 10 Cinemark theatre locations across the country, including Oklahoma City’s Cinemark Tinseltown theater.

“My Favorite Musicals,” featuring three award-winning musical classics, will be shown today and Tuesday.

This mini film festival, which is being launched in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox, features all-time classic movies digitally re-mastered for the big screen; including a newly restored version of the beloved Academy Award-winning Rodgers & Hammerstein musical “Oklahoma!” (1955). Other classic screenings include “Moulin Rouge!” (2001), Director Baz Luhrmann’s Oscar-winning drama starring Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor and John Leguizamo; and “Hello, Dolly!” (1969), the Academy Award-winning romantic comedy directed by Gene Kelly starring Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau.

“We are excited to present these spectacular films as they were intended to be seen on the big screen and to create a fun, affordable event for everyone” Steve Bunnell, Executive Vice President of Global Content at Cinemark said in a news release

The special 4K restoration of “Oklahoma!” will be screened at 30 frames per second — an identical frame rate as the film’s original release in 1955. Meticulously restored from 65mm Todd-AO elements by Twentieth Century Fox, Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, and Fotokem, this stunning presentation captures as much detail from the film as possible. The beautiful images showcase the majesty of the frontier in a way never-before-seen and further magnified by the big screen!

John Hegeman, President of Distant Corners Entertainment, and founder of Best Movie Fest Ever, added in the release: “It’s fantastic that companies like Cinemark and Fox are committed to bringing new audiences to these classic titles and to providing an inexpensive summer experience that makes people feel good and leave with a smile.”

The price to see all three films is just $15. That includes special guest introductions, in theatre promotions and giveaways, concession stand discounts, and a coupon good for savings on Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment purchases.

“My Favorite Musicals” will be presented at the following Cinemark Theatres:

Century Huntington Beach and XD, Huntington Beach, CA; Century Evanston and XD, Evanston, IL; Century Pleasant Hill 16 and XD, Pleasant Hill, CA; Century Rio and XD, Albuquerque, NM; Century Stadium Sacramento, Sacramento, CA; Century South Point and XD, Las Vegas, NV; Century San Francisco Centre and XD, San Francisco, CA; Cinemark Tinseltown 20 and XD, Oklahoma City, OK; Cinemark Palace and XD, Boca Raton, FL; and Cinemark West Plano and XD, Plano, TX.
