City council approves Amtrak plan
The Oklahoma City Council gave its support this morning for a plan to extend AMTRAK passenger rail service north from Oklahoma City to Newton, Kan.
Newton is connected to Chicago and Los Angeles . The extension would make rail a more viable form of alternative transportation for Oklahoma City residents worried about rising gasoline pries and air fares, city officials said.
