Civic Center play offensive

After attending “West Side Story” at the Civic Center Music Hall, I felt compelled to write to express my disappointment. I enjoyed the dancing, singing and set but I was offended by several of the scenes. I naively assumed that the show would simply be an updated version of the original. Several of the scenes were crude, immoral and definitely not family friendly. I was grateful that I didn't take any children with me, but I noticed that many families were in the audience. Is this entertainment?

I reviewed the program to see if there was a warning of explicit content. I found none. I'll be more discerning in the future.
