Claremore woman dies in Rogers County crash

A Claremore woman was killed Wednesday in an accident in Rogers County. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the Thursday fatality.

A Claremore woman was killed in a Rogers County crash, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Barbara Olmstead, 76, died of massive injuries in a crash about 7 p.m. Wednesday on State Highway 266, about 3 miles southwest of downtown Claremore, the patrol reported. She was a passenger in a car driven by Robert Gary Olmstead, 79, of Claremore.

Robert Olmstead was taken to a Tulsa hospital with head, internal, external trunk, arm and leg injuries.

Passenger Rhonda Olmstead, 54, of Claremore, was taken to a Tulsa hospital with head, internal trunk and leg injuries. She was treated and released.

The driver of the other vehicle, Christopher Hall, 27, of Claremore, was not treated at the scene.

Robert Olmstead was driving west on SH 266 when he tried to turn south and was hit by Hall's eastbound SUV. Seat belts were in use in both vehicles, the patrol reported. has disabled the comments for this article.
