HOUSTON (AP) — Ricardo Clark scored in the sixth minute and Houston held on for a 1-0 win against the Montreal Impact on Friday night, stretching the Dynamo's unbeaten streak to four games.
Houston (13-10-8) moved one point ahead of Montreal (13-10-7) for third place in the Eastern Conference.
Clark got the game's only goal after getting a shoulder pass from Giles Barnes in the center of the field, settling the ball with his left foot and one-timing it with his right foot into the left net from 25 yards out.
Toronto's best chance to even things up in the first half came in the 41st minute off Marco Di Vaio's free kick from just outside the upper right box that was knocked out by a wall of Dynamo players. The ensuing corner kick was also cleared by Houston.
