In the Class 4A team race, Tuttle dominated the competition behind the strength of six champions and 10 total place winners.

Picking up individual gold for the Tigers were: Blake Dauphin at 113 pounds, Gunner Laffoon at 132 pounds, Dakota Head at 145 pounds, Zachary Beard at 170 pounds, Dustin Mason at 220 pounds and Nathan Jackson at 285 pounds.

“We got the team stuff wrapped up early and then it became about getting individual titles for our kids,” coach Matt Surber said. “This was a really nice way to finish this tournament off.”

Tuttle finished with 193 team points, as Cushing came in a distant second with 82 points.

Tuttle has now won five consecutive tournament titles, and 10 in the program's history.

PERRY WINS 39th TEAM TITLE

In Class 3A, Perry took home its 39th team state championship. Coach Ronnie Delk said it felt great to bring the championship back to Perry after the Maroons finished runner-up to Blackwell last season.

“It feels great win this one, especially after the way we performed last year,” Delk said. “I'm excited because we get to bring back to Perry what was ours.”
