YUKON — The tallest player in the arena Thursday night — 6-foot-8 Matt Lea, a senior Stilwell center — was the biggest difference maker in a 63-44 Stilwell victory against Fort Gibson.
Lea finished with 31 points as part of a Stilwell offense that ranged the court. Paired with Lea’s inside presence, the jumpshots were falling early as guards Ryan Collins and A.J. Deason each knocked down two 3-pointers apiece in the first half. Stilwell led 30-21 at the break.
Fort Gibson opened the second half with a 5-0 run, cutting the deficit to four points. The Tigers were led in scoring by junior guard Jordan London with 10 points. But the rally was short lived.
Lea scored 17 of his points in the second half and Fort Gibson had no answer. Stilwell junior guard Chase Littlejohn scored 11 points, highlighted by a dunk in the fourth quarter.
