Cummins' consistent performance, posting a pair of 67s, has him up by two shots at 10 under par. Fort Gibson junior Wesley Jackson is two shots back after posting the lowest individual round of the day with a 66 in the afternoon.

Poteau sophomore Cody Shore is in third at 138.

GOING LOW

You can usually bet on weather of some kind making for a difficult day at the state golf tournaments — as the girls learned last week.

But Monday, conditions were almost perfect at Lake Hefner North, and the players took full advantage.

Nineteen players posted at least one round better than the par of 72, with four players shooting under par in both rounds. Elk City had three players — Brock Walker, Joby Gray and Logan Gore — each shoot an under-par round.
