Class 5A high school football rankings: Guthrie, Lawton MacArthur among top teams

With quarterback Bryan Dutton returning, Guthrie is the preseason favorite in Class 5A, but Lawton MacArthur and Tulsa East Central also look strong.

1. Guthrie (14-0)

Bryan Dutton is back to lead a potent Bluejays offense at QB.

2. Lawton MacArthur (13-1)

Darius Graham is one of the most explosive backs in the state.

3. Tulsa East Central (10-2)

Stanvon Taylor and Kimmie Carson help make the Cardinals' defense fearsome.

4. Carl Albert (9-2)

Titans have to find skill-position players to pack around an experienced group of linemen.

5. McAlester (12-1)

Devin Rolan gives the Buffs one of the best linebackers in the state.

6. Deer Creek (7-4)

Load of returning starters has Deer Creek thinking big things.

7. Duncan (8-4)

Strength figures to be on the lines, where three starters return on each side.

8. Ardmore (8-5)

Few returning starters could signal slow start for Tigers.

9. Coweta (6-5)

Hayden Holmes returns as the Tigers' starting QB.

10. Tulsa Kelley (8-3)

The Comets lost a solid group of starters but once again figure to be strong defensively.

11. Del City (1-9)

Move down to 5A and returning experience signals better days for the Eagles.

12. Shawnee (1-9)

Another team hoping for a boost with a move down from 6A.
