— This was not quite how Skiatook envisioned its first appearance in the soccer state championship game.

Connor McGinnis scored two goals as Heritage Hall surged to a big first-half lead and cruised past the Bulldogs 6-1 to claim its second straight Class 5A state title Friday night at John Crain Field at the OU Soccer Complex.

Heritage Hall (17-0), which knocked off top-ranked Tulsa East Central 4-1 in the semifinals on Tuesday, completed its second consecutive undefeated season — 34 consecutive victories — by winning its four playoff matches by a combined 20-3 margin.
