Lewallen, 30-1, reached Saturday's championship finals at 120 pounds where he will meet fellow sophomore and defending state champion Markus Simmons, 33-4, of Broken Arrow.
OSU BLOOD ON THE MAT
Stillwater sophomore Joe Smith, son of Oklahoma State University wrestling coach and two-time Olympic champion John Smith, will defend his state title from a year ago. Smith, 39-0, reached the championship final after pinning both of his opponents at 132 pounds on Saturday.
Stillwater freshman Kennedy Monday, son of former Olympic champion and OSU wrestler Kenny Monday, lost a 1-0 decision in the semifinals at 106 pounds to Dalton Duffield of Westmoore.
Duffield will meet Jordan Prince of Edmond North for the title.
NORMAN NORTH PUTS THREE IN THE FINALS
Sophomore Hayden Hansen (39-1) of Norman North reached the state finals at 126 pounds with a 4-3 semifinal win over Edmond North's Josh Breece.
Afterward, Hansen said he has been thinking about the moment since getting injured in last year's regionals.
“It's been a long journey ever since last year,” Hansen said. “I missed all of this last year. It means a lot to make it to the state finals and compete for a state championship.”
