EDMOND SANTA FE

Top players: RB/DB Reggie Smith, 6-1, 195, Sr.; QB Steve Day, 6-2, 195, Sr.; RB Steve Ihekona, 5-10, 190, Sr.; SS Reece Underwood, 6-2, 185, Sr; WR Dane Miller, 6-2, 165, Sr.

The facts: State finalist last year, Santa Fe should be just as good this season. Smith has 22 career interceptions. He also scored 22 touchdowns last season. Ihekona ran for 1,200 yards last year. Day threw 24 TD's and passed for 1,808 yards.

Head coach: Dan Cocannouer, 4th season

LAWTON EISENHOWER EAGLES

Last year's record: 9-3

Returning starters: 2 offensive, 2 defensive

Top players: DT Kenneth Pointer 6-4, 280, Sr.; DB Dominique Green, 5-11, 170, Sr.; WR Chelledon Chenautt, 5-11, 170, Sr.; OL Kellan Waskiewicz, 6-0, 260, Sr.; RB/DB Devon Bailey 6-2, 190, So.

The facts: The first thing the Eagles have to do is find a replacement for running back D.J. Wolfe, an Oklahoman All-State pick a season ago. Bailey might be the person. He's just a sophomore. Pointer is a big-time talent at defensive tackle. He's being recruited by several major schools. Green is one of the best defensive backs in the state.

MOORE LIONS

Last year's record: 6-5

Top players: OL Jacob Thornbrue, 6-6, 315, Sr.; OTE/LB Justin Ferree, 6-2, 220, Sr.; TE/DE Matt Midgett, 6-2, 220, Sr.; TE/LB Bryce Hoss, 6-3, 225, Sr.; Andrew Stoll, RB/LB, 5-9, 190, Sr.

The facts: Tarrion Adams had been a staple the past three seasons in the Moore backfield, and now the Lions need to find a replacement. Look for senior R.J. Williams to get an opportunity. Ryan Womack is back at receiver and Andre Stoll returns at fullback.

Head coach: Tom Noles, 10th season

Season opener: Friday vs. Westmoore

NORMAN TIGERS

Last year's record: 6-5

Returning starters: 6 offensive, 5 defensive

Top players: QB Josh Miller 6-1, 150, Sr.; FB Clay Shumway, FB 6-1, 180, Sr.; Kenji Campbell, 5-9 170, Sr.; WR Dustin Graham, 6-2, 180, Sr.

The facts: Miller is back at quarterback. He threw for 1,478 yards last year and 18 touchdowns. Campbell ran for 805 yards. Shumway and Moses Madu combined for 13 TDs and more than 700 yards rushing.

Head coach: Butch Peters, 9th season

Season opener: Thursday vs. Norman North

PUTNAM CITY WEST PATRIOTS

Last year's record: 3-7

Returning starters: 6 offensive, 6 defensive

Top players: QB Wilton Jordan, 5-10, 165, Sr.; TB Will Freeman, 5-10, 185, Sr.; DB David Swafford, 6-2, 180, Sr.; OL/DL Kyle Neal, 6-2, 240, Jr.; DB/WR Tyron Bills, 6-0, 170, Sr.

The facts: Jordan is an excellent talent at quarterback. He ran for 576 yards last year and passed for 648. Freeman had more than 800 yards last year. Swafford led the team with 88 tackles.

Head coach: Randy Wilson, 1st season

Season opener: Friday vs. Putnam City

DEL CITY EAGLES

Last year's record: 3-7

Returning starters: 1 offensive, 1 defensive

Top players: LB Derrick Anderson, 5-11, 200, Jr.; TB Ricky Givens, 5-11, 180, Jr.; FB Tyler Adkisson, 5-10, 185, Sr.; FS Xavier Clanton, 6-0, 170, Jr.; LB Sebastian Conner. 5-9, 200, Sr.

The facts: Only Adkisson returns in the backfield for the Eagles. Deauntra Rideau takes over at quarterback. Experience and depth will be an issue.

The facts: Graham returns at quarterback, but the rest of the skill players at Choctaw will be inexperienced. The offensive line is solid as Tisdell and McCain are getting some college interest.

YUKON MILLERS

The facts: Lots of returnees at Yukon as Millers will feature experience at the skill positions. Ben McKinney started most of the second half of the season last year at quarterback. Yukon should be solid at receiver.

The facts: Karim and Bradford return. The two combined for 31 scores a season ago and more than 3,100 yards on offense. Brown and Winzeler combined for 61 catches and more than 600 yards. Tulsa, OSU , Kansas and Missouri are some of the schools interested in the shifty and speedy Karim.

Head coach: Bob Wilson, 13th season

WESTMOORE JAGUARS

The facts: Boydstun's back at quarterback for a team that's made the semifinals and the quarterfinals the past two seasons. Finn and Summers are the best pair of defensive tackles in the state. After a running back by committee strategy last year, watch for Tim Mosely to get a shot this season as the feature back.

Head coach: Mike Whaley, 5th season

PUTNAM CITY PIRATES

Last year's record: 10-3

Returning starters: 2 offensive, 6 defensive

Top players: RB Da'marean Pullen, 5-9, 170, Sr.; TE/DE Jacob Reid, 6-3, 215, Sr.; OL Booker Douglass, 5-10, 390, Sr.; FB/LB Justin Webb, 5-10, 220; OL/DL Kenton Dunlap, 6-0, 225, Sr.

The facts: Just two starters are back on the offense, but one is Pullen, who ran for more than 1,700 yards and scored 23 touchdowns. Putnam City made the quarterfinals two years ago and the semifinals last year. Zac Farris steps in at quarterback.

The facts: Laron Moore is fast enough to play anywhere on the field; the junior will start the season at quarterback. He ran for 1,301 yards and accounted for 16 touchdowns. Brown ran for 1,048 yards last year, averaging more than eight per carry.

Head coach: Ricky Oliver, 4th season

Season opener: Friday vs. Del City

MUSTANG BRONCOS

Last year's record: 5-5

Returning starters: 4 offensive, 5 defensive

Top players: LB Micha McGaham, 5-11, 190, Sr.; OL Cory Scrivner, 6-6, 407, Sr.; OL Luke Ricks, 6-1, 280, Sr; WR Matt Ellison, 5-9, 165, Sr.; QB Brian Jones, 6-1, 178, Sr.

The facts: The strength of the team is on the offensive line, which will be anchored by three-year starters Scrivner and Ricks. Jones takes over at quarterback for Robby Treadwell, who threw for more yards than anyone in Class 6A football. Ellison will be the main target for Jones.

Head coach: Todd Dilbeck, 3rd season

NORMAN NORTH TIMBERWOLVES

Top players: DB Kendal Hendricks, 5-10, 175, Sr.; DB Tyler Heidel, 5-8, 170, Sr.; RB/DB Blake Greene, 5-10, 190, Sr.; WR/DB James Warren, 5-11, 170, Sr.; TE Matt Edge, 5-11, 185, Jr.

The facts: Drew Hart, Greene and Chris Lowe as well as Sterling Marino will carry the ball. Edge might be the best tight end you've never heard of. He caught 27 passes for 405 yards last year.

LAWTON WOLVERINES

Top players: WR/DB James Campbell, 6-0, 170, Sr.; WR/DB Kellen Hill, 5-6, 165, Jr.; WR/FS Lance Crumbley, 6-0, 185, Sr; RB/DB Dezmond Nix, 5-9, 180, Sr; OL Theo Rogers, 6-1, 340, Sr.

The facts: Nix will see more time at running back this season. Hill will be the go-to receiver. Tanner Wade steps in at quarterback. He's a 5-11, 155-pound junior.
