Class A fall baseball: Binger-Oney holds off Silo to win title

The school that produced Johnny Bench and is now coached by former major leaguer Reggie Willits won its seventh state championship on Saturday. Binger held on for a 5-4 win over Silo at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

If it wasn’t so unbelievable, Binger-Oney’s path to the Class A fall baseball title would make for a good Disney movie.

The Bobcats finished off the seventh state championship in the program’s proud history by holding on for a 5-4 win over Silo on Saturday afternoon at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. Austin Green threw a complete-game three-hitter for Binger-Oney (27-8) and added what proved to be the decisive RBI single in the fourth inning.
