Hinton vs. Velma-Alma should be a pretty good showdown of two of the best offensive players in Class A with running back Trenton Files of Velma-Alma and Hinton’s Matt Fink, who has 1,305 yards passing and 14 touchdowns this season. Files is no slouch with 1,128 yards and 20 touchdowns rushing.

Whippets have tough road
Sure, Okeene is the odds-on favorite, but the Whippets also find themselves on the same side of the Class A bracket as No. 2 Ringling, No. 3 Woodland and No. 7 Dewar. Whoever comes out of this side of the bracket will be battle-tested and the favorite to win it all.
Stroud’s path not so difficult
Stroud should get past Savanna fairly easily in its first-round game, then the Tigers face off against Morrison.
If they can get past Morrison it’s more or less smooth sailing through the rest of the bracket since the other side is so loaded with top teams.
Upset special
Hominy over Commerce in the first round. Commerce has enjoyed shutout wins over Quapaw and Hulbert to close out the regular season. Hominy benefited from playing in A-7 with powers Tonkawa, Morrison and Woodland. Hominy finished fourth but has been through the ringer in the regular season, which should make it tougher than the record indicates.

Hominy could upset Commerce in the first round based upon their schedule. However, the last meeting of Commerce and Hominy resulted in a Commerce victory. Should be a great game up in far NE Oklahoma.
