Knippelmier, 63, the owner of Knippelmier Chevrolet in Blanchard, recently opened his collection of more than 130 classic cars to the public.
Some people remember the 1960s as the era of the Vietnam War, the Cuban Missile Crisis and the civil rights movement.
Knippelmier remembers it as the decade in which he purchased his first classic car, a Model A Ford.
“I've been buying ever since,” he said.
Located at 1811 U.S. 62 East, Knippelmier Chevrolet was bought nearly 52 years ago by Knippelmier's father Ray Knippelmier in 1959.
Ray Knippelmier owned Salyer Oil company service stations before purchasing a dealership.
