VELMA (AP) — Authorities in southwest Oklahoma say a convenience store employee has been arrested in the death of a 16-year-old girl.

Stephens County Sheriff Wayne McKinney said Thursday that Miles Sterling Bench was being held on a complaint of first-degree murder in the death of Braylee Rae Henry. McKinney expects formal charges Friday.

Henry disappeared Wednesday after she went to a convenience store in the small town of Velma.

McKinney says authorities were called after someone discovered blood on the store's floor and no clerk on duty.

McKinney says a police-tracking dog found the teen's body in a wooded area east of Velma.

The sheriff says Henry's car was missing but authorities tracked it through its GPS system. McKinney says authorities found the car near Weatherford and arrested Bench, who was driving.
