Clerk arrested after Velma teenager is found dead
VELMA — Authorities in southwest Oklahoma say a convenience store employee has been arrested in the death of a 16-year-old girl.
VELMA — Authorities in southwest Oklahoma say a convenience store employee has been arrested in the death of a 16-year-old girl.
Stephens County Wayne McKinney says 16-year-old Braylee Rae Henry disappeared Wednesday after she went a convenience store in Velma. McKinney says authorities were called after someone entered the store and discovered blood on the floor and no clerk on duty.
A police-tracking dog found the teen's body shortly afterward east of Velma.A local television station reports that there were obvious signs of trauma to the teen's body.
The sheriff says Henry's car was missing but authorities were able to track it through its GPS system. The sheriff says authorities found the car near Weatherford and arrested the driver, who worked at the convenience store in Velma.
