Cleveland County commissioners approve jail housing rate increase

NORMAN — Cleveland County commissioners voted Monday to charge cities $45 per day for housing their prisoners in the county jail, up from the longtime rate of $35 per day.

The commissioners, though, tabled their vote on jail service agreements with Lexington and Moore for at least one more week so the county’s legal counsel can standardize agreements with all cities in the county.
