Clint Eastwood uses Heimlich to save golf tourney director Published: February 7, 2014

Clint Eastwood added another starring role at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am -- lifesaver.

The legendary actor/director was attending a volunteers party the day before the PGA Tour event Wednesday night when he noticed tournament director Steve John choking. The 83-year-old Eastwood quickly sprung into action, performing the Heimlich maneuver on John, who was choking on some cheese.

John said Friday that Eastwood -- who is a chairman of the Monterey Peninsula Foundation, which runs the Pebble Beach Pro Am -- saved his life.
