Clint Eastwood's comments to Obama well received

Many Democrats and media pundits seem unable to understand why Clint Eastwood's appearance at the Republican National Convention was so well received by delegates and viewers. Perhaps I can help them. Eastwood's comments and “interview” with the president sounded like the conversation many voters would like to have with Barack Obama. They have the same questions, such as whose stupid idea it was to bring terrorists to New York for trial and to close Gitmo. Or to publicize the withdrawal date for our soldiers in Afghanistan or why he's unsuccessful in ending high unemployment and why he didn't step aside.

“Go ahead. Make my day!” was well received, but I would have preferred this: “Do I know who you are? Yeah, you're a legend in your own mind!”
