Clinton asks for Sooner State's help
NORMAN — Former President Clinton raised enthusiasm and cash for his wife's presidential bid during appearances Wednesday on the University of Oklahoma campus.

During a speech on behalf of his wife, former President Clinton didn't criticize the other Democratic contender, Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois.

The former president, often interrupted by applause and cheers, talked for an hour about the skills and experience Hillary Rodham Clinton has to "build a better future for America” as well as her compassion to change people's lives for the better.
"I came here to ask you to help Hillary make history and build a better future for America,” Clinton told more than 5,000 who packed McCasland Field House on the OU campus.
Clinton was joined by his daughter, Chelsea Clinton, when he walked on the stage after being introduced by OU President David Boren.
After his speech, Clinton went across the street for a closed fund-raiser for his wife's bid to be the Democratic presidential nominee. The event was in the suite area of Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.
More than $200,000 was raised at the fundraiser, said Mike Turpen, Hillary Clinton's finance chairman in Oklahoma.
