NORMAN — Tony Jefferson said he never hit Kenny Stills in practice while the two were Oklahoma teammates.
But Sunday, the two close friends and NFL rookies might finally collide on the gridiron when Jefferson’s Arizona Cardinals travel to face Stills’ New Orleans Saints at noon.
Both California natives opted to skip their senior seasons at Oklahoma to enter the 2013 NFL Draft. The Saints picked Stills in the fifth round, while Jefferson went undrafted, signed a free-agent contract with the Cardinals and eventually beat the odds and made the team.
Through two games, Jefferson has recorded three tackles, while Stills has caught three passes for 96 yards.
The two buddies appeared together on Fox Sports Live this week to preview the game. That video is embedded at the top of this blog post.
