Oklahoma Coalition against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault says video furthers stereotypes

"Videos and songs of this nature perpetuate stereotypes of victims of sexual assault. Child abuse and sexual assault are never funny,” director Marcia Smith said. "Here we see popular media perpetuating the stereotype that victims of sexual assault are not true victims, but are using allegations of rape to get power and control.

"The truth is the exact opposite; rape is a violent crime about taking power from the victim.”

The song may have contributed to a Pontotoc County jury’s inability to reach a verdict in the rape case against Phillip Dwayne Lout.

Lout’s attorney contends Lout’s 13-year-old accuser made allegations against him after seeing a video of the song by a member of the sketch comedy troupe, Whitest Kids U’ Know.

The troupe’s self-titled comedy show airs on cable channel IFC.

The troupe and cable channel did not respond to The Oklahoman’s requests for comment on the Lout case for this story.
