From the National Weather Service, Norman Forecast Office:

Colder air than that on Tuesday will

briefly return Wednesday, resulting in the possibility of

light freezing rain or drizzle across the northern half of Oklahoma.

No significant ice accumulations are expected.

From the Oklahoma Mesonet weather network: Nowata has recorded a negative low

temperature again today. After a low of negative 12 Monday, Nowata’s had a low of negative 3.8 degrees

at 1:50 a.m. At 7:45 a.m., Nowata was at 15 degrees.

And in one last note:

To put Monday’s cold weather into perspective, the coldest temperature

at a Mesonet station in 2013 was negative 10 at Kenton on Jan. 2.

Again, on Monday (Jan. 6), Nowata recorded a low negative 12. Hopefully that will finish as

the coldest Mesonet reading in 2014.
