College baseball: Cowboys beat Arizona State in a wild one

The teams combined for 26 runs, 28 hits and six errors. The game lasted 3 hours, 32 minutes. A combined 10 pitchers were used — and only one, Oklahoma State’s Brendan McCurry, did not allow a run.

Saxon finished with a game-high four hits. Walton had two RBIs and scored three times.

Arizona State (24-20) managed just one more run, in the seventh inning, before McCurry took over for the final two frames. He blanked the Sun Devils on one hit, no walks and four strikeouts.

Oklahoma State returns to Big 12 play at 6:30 p.m. Friday against Kansas State in Manhattan, Kan.

BEARS DROP SOONERS

Grayson Porter finished with six RBIs, and Adam Toth added five hits as Baylor whipped Oklahoma 10-5 in Big 12 baseball Sunday at Mitchell Park in Norman.

A crowd of 1,175 watched the Sooners lose their last home game of the season. OU (26-23 overall, 6-12 Big 12) led just once, 4-3 after two innings, before Baylor (22-27, 7-13) took the lead for good with a three-run fourth inning.

Craig Aikin and Austin O’Brien had three hits apiece for Oklahoma, which next plays Friday at TCU.
