College football: 208-0, and counting ...

This year's top five college football teams in the preseason Associated Press poll were Georgia, Ohio State, Southern Cal, Oklahoma and Florida.

All five certainly dominated their season opener Saturday. Each started out scoring a bunch of points while simultaneously shutting out their opponent.

Add their scores together, and at one point the top five led their opening opponents by a combined score of 208-0:

• 1. Georgia led Georgia Southern 38-0 (6:07 in the third quarter).

• 2. Ohio State beat Youngstown State 43-0.

• 3. USC led Virginia 21-0 (4:01 in the first quarter).

• 4. Oklahoma led Tennessee-Chattanooga 50-0 (4:17 in the second quarter).

• 5. Florida led Hawaii 56-0 (:40 in the third quarter).
