Give South Carolina credit. The 12th-ranked Gamecocks haven't had an easy opponent yet. South Carolina beat North Carolina 27-10, lost to Georgia 41-30 and beat Vanderbilt 35-25.
The easy pickings will come. Kentucky, Coastal Carolina.
But not Saturday. South Carolina plays at Central Florida, a team that might be labeled a mid-major but a team that has shown it is quite capable of playing with big boys.
The Golden Knights won 34-31 at Penn State two weeks ago. They played tough at Ohio State last season before losing 31-16.
Central Florida has a coach (George O'Leary) who knows what he's doing, an effective quarterback in junior Blake Bortles and a tailback (Storm Johnson) averaging over 100 yards rushing per game.
South Carolina is a 7 1/2-point favorite, but let's go with Central Florida in the upset.
