Oklahoma
Hatari Byrd, DB
With Tony Jefferson and Javon Harris gone, the four-star prospect from Fresno, Calif., will have a chance to take a starting safety spot as a true freshman.
Quincy Russell, DT
The Sooners need help at defensive tackle. The transfer from Trinity Valley Community College, who sports a 6-3, 311-pound frame, could immediately help.
Oklahoma State
Marcell Ateman or Ra'Shaad Samples, WR
The Cowboys' Air Raid spread offense needs a bevy of receivers, and Ateman and Samples give them a pair of four-star prospects from Texas.
Sam Wren, DE
With the loss of departed seniors Ryan Robinson, Nigel Nicholas and Cooper Bassett, Wren is likely to immediately compete for a starting role. The transfer from Arizona Western Community College is already enrolled at OSU and will participate in spring football.
Big 12
Kent Perkins or Darius James, OL, Texas
The two four-star prospects could compete for early time up front. According to Rivals, Perkins is the highest-rated recruit in the Big 12 at No. 41 overall.
