East Central reached the .500 mark Saturday with a game-winning field goal from senior Brian Gonzalez in a 33-30 win over Arkansas Tech at Thone Stadium in Russellville, Ark.
With less than one minute remaining, the Wonder Boys tied the game before the Tigers drove from their own 21 to set up the game-winning 27-yard field goal.
Senior Titus Mobley rushed for a career-high 233 yards on 29 carries. Spencer Bond went 16 of 26, throwing one touchdown and rushing for two.
East Central (5-5, 3-4 Great American Conference) had 493 yard of offense, 268 of which came on the ground. Arkansas Tech (5-5, 3-4) had 403 total yards.
East Central hosts Southeastern State next week at 2 p.m.
HARDING TOPS SOUTHEASTERN
Southeastern Oklahoma State's three-game winning streak came to an end as No. 16 Harding rolled to a 31-9 victory at Paul Laird Field in GAC play.
The Savage Storm (4-5, 2-5) turned the ball over on the their first two possessions, digging them an early hole. Quarterback Jercolby Bradley threw an interception on the first offensive play and then Ladarius Abrams fumbled on the next possession. Harding turned them into 10 points.
Harding improved to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in GAC play.
WILSON LIFTS SOUTHWESTERN
Southwestern Oklahoma State running back Aaron Wilson ran for 289 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries to lift the Bulldogs to a 38-21 victory over the University of Arkansas-Monticello at Fast Lane Field.
Wilson's two touchdowns came in the second half, and provided some breathing room. He scored on runs of 25 and 1 yards.
Southwestern is now 3-6 on the season. It hosts Harding next week.
NORTHWESTERN EDGES SNU
Northwestern Oklahoma State beat Southern Nazarene 35-28 for its third straight victory.
Kyle Jech threw for 278 yards and three touchdowns, completing 19 of 31 passes. Jech's touchdown pass to Jeremiah Carter with 11:41 remaining proved the difference.
Keenan Santacruz returned an interception 35 yards for a touchdown midway through the first.
SNU quarterback Dylan Terry threw three touchdowns.
