Lauren Chamberlain hit a three-run homer, and Oklahoma scored three times on bases-loaded walks in its 8-3 rout of Baylor on Friday night in Big 12 softball in Waco, Texas.

Chamberlain's 17th homer of the season came in a five-run fifth inning that helped the Sooners break open a tight game. The sophomore has 47 career homers, which ties her for sixth on the Big 12's career list.

Keilani Ricketts pitched 52/3 innings for OU, striking out eight. She is 17-1 this season; the victory was also No. 115 for the senior's career, tying Jennifer Stewart for the most in school history. Stewart played for the Sooners over the 1999-2002 seasons.

OU (32-2 overall, 1-0 Big 12) and Baylor (29-8, 3-3) continue the series at noon Saturday.

CYCLONES BEAT COWGIRLS

Iowa State held off a late rally in the top of the seventh inning Friday and beat Oklahoma State 11-8 in Big 12 softball at the Cyclone Complex in Ames. OSU rallied for two runs in the seventh to make it closer, but the Cowgirls stranded one runner when Tiffany Mikkelson lined the ball to right field for the game's final out.

OSU (24-15 overall, 2-2 Big 12) had 13 hits, including three from Ari Morrison and two each from Tarah Ettinger, Shelby Davis and Gessenia DeLaCruz. But the Cowgirls did not have enough to combat Iowa State, which recovered from an early 2-0 deficit. Iowa State (15-19, 1-3) roughed up Cowgirls starting pitcher Kat Espinosa for seven runs on seven hits in four innings.

The three-game series continues at noon Saturday in Ames.
