BRUNSWICK, Maine (AP) — A young woman from Maine is one of 32 American college students selected for a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship.

Margaret Hayden of Brunswick is included in the newest group of Rhodes Scholars announced Sunday to earn scholarships at Oxford University in England.

Hayden is a senior at Stanford University, where she majors in human biology and ethics in society. At Oxford, she plans to study medical anthropology.

The Rhodes Trust says Hayden has published two papers, served as a patient advocate and is passionate about the medical, sociological, political and moral contexts of mental illness.

She was one of 838 applicants from 302 college and universities. She will enter Oxford next October.
