A Colorado company has scooped up four more Oklahoma City-area self-storage properties in a $12.95-million deal that the broker said was the largest such transaction here in five years.
Think of it as 1,717 walk-in closets — 90 of them big enough to park a boat or RV.
SecurCare Self Storage bought the properties from Sassan Moghadam, who developed them, said broker Micah Alcorn of Domain Commercial, a boutique brokerage in Norman, who handled the sale. The properties, which operated as A Plus Mini Storage, are:
• 2430 12th Avenue NE, Norman, 49,700 square feet, with 387 units, plus a single-tenant cell tower.
• 1001 SW 19, Moore, 90,770 square feet, with 598 units, including 62 for vehicle storage, plus a cell tower with two tenants.
• 4650 W Main St., Norman, 55,925 square feet, with 421 units.
• 2002 Research Park Blvd., Norman, 57,075 square feet, with 311 units, including 28 for vehicle storage.
SecurCare Self Storage Inc., based in Lone Tree, Colo., is a national self-storage investor-operator with an institutional equity partner who first entered the self-storage market in Oklahoma in 2004, Alcorn said. SecurCare now has 31 self-storage properties in Oklahoma, according to its website. Alcorn said that amounts to almost 15 percent of the total.
