TURPIN — A Colorado man died when his sport utility vehicle drifted into oncoming traffic and slammed into a tractor-trailer rig on U.S. 83 near Turpin, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Galen Arthur Howard, 57, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died at the scene of the wreck, which occurred about 1:35 p.m. southeast of Turpin in Beaver County, the patrol said. Howard was northbound on U.S. 83 when he drifted into the path of the oncoming tractor-trailer driven by Stephen F. Clepper, 56, of Garden City, Kan., the patrol said.
