COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — The NCAA says Columbus is among seven cities under consideration to host a women's basketball Final Four during the 2017-20 bid cycle.
In addition to Ohio's capital city, the other candidates are: Dallas, Houston, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh and Tampa Bay. Of the seven, only New Orleans (1991, 2004 and 2013) and Tampa Bay (2008) have previously hosted the event.
Completed bids are due in May, with the committees and staffs spending the summer reviewing each. Site visits will then take place with the winning bids announced in November.
A venue must hold 18,000 fans to host the event.
