MTV Geek reports from Comic-Con International in San Diego that writer/artist Jeff Smith plans to create more comics in the world of Boneville.  Smith’s award-winning “Bone” is a best-selling series of graphic novels that Smith initially self-published through his Cartoon Books imprint.

In a spotlight panel on Thursday, Smith said the new projects from Scholastic would be entirely by him, and that  “they won’t be sequels.”

The comic-book series “Bone” won 10 Eisner Awards and 11 Harvey Awards.    Three follow-up YA novels, co-written by Tom Sniegoski, were released under the subtitle “The Quest for the Spark.”  Scholastic has distributed the color editions of the Bone graphic novels.
