ComicsPRO executive director Amanda Emmert steps down

by Matthew Price Published: May 6, 2013

ComicsPRO executive director Amanda Emmert is stepping down from her position, the organization reports.   ComicsPRO is a national organization of comic-book retailers.

Emmert took steps to create the organization starting in 2004, and has been a key part of the organization in various roles since.

“As a company, ComicsPRO is stable, established, and financially sound,” Emmert writes at the ComicsPRO blog. “For many years I’ve been very careful with our budgets, and we’re set to enter the next phase of the organization with a firm footing, which will allow the association to run successfully for many years. I am confident that our leadership will continue to improve the organization for our members, and I’m excited for the next wave of retailers to step up and take charge of our association.”

Emmert owns Muse Comics + Games in Colorado Springs, Colo.   She’s a fantastic advocate for the comics industry, and I look forward to finding out what she has planned in the future.
