Commander of USS North Dakota to address lawmakers
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The commanding officer of a Navy nuclear submarine being named for North Dakota is slated to give an update Friday to the Legislature about the vessel's progress.

Navy Cmdr. Douglas Gordon will address the North Dakota Senate and House on the USS North Dakota. Gov. Jack Dalrymple proclaimed Friday as USS North Dakota day.
The $2.6 billion submarine is under construction on the East Coast and is slated to join the fleet in 2014.
